Wisdom Within: Attuning to Your Body’s Wisdom and Building Self-Trust
What if you could meet yourself with more curiosity, compassion, and understanding - even in the moments when you feel overwhelmed, activated, stuck, or disconnected?
This group offers an introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a pathway toward building a new and more compassionate relationship with yourself. Through IFS, participants will begin to recognize and understand the different parts of themselves, including the protective patterns and reactions that have developed through life experiences.
Together, we will cultivate the qualities of Self-energy, including curiosity, compassion, calm, clarity, and presence. Rather than judging, fixing, or pushing away the parts of us that struggle, participants will learn to turn toward themselves with greater openness and care.
We will then explore Polyvagal Theory and develop a deeper understanding of how the nervous system communicates through the body. Participants will learn to recognize somatic cues of activation, protection, connection, and regulation, building an understanding of what their bodies may be communicating before, during, and after moments of stress.
By bringing these two frameworks together, participants will begin to experience their body's signals through an IFS parts lens. Sensations, emotions, impulses, and nervous system responses can become invitations to listen more deeply and compassionately to the parts of ourselves that are trying to protect us.
An important part of this work is the opportunity to learn and practice in community with others. Group spaces can remind us that many of the experiences we carry (our protective patterns, inner conflicts, fears, and struggles) are deeply human. Hearing others share their experiences can offer moments of recognition and validation, helping us feel less alone while also expanding our understanding of ourselves.
This is an opportunity to slow down, listen inward, and begin creating a relationship with yourself that feels more grounded, more flexible, and more compassionate.

What you’ll learn:
-
The framework of IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Learn the foundational concepts of IFS and discover a new way of understanding your inner world. -
Identify parts of yourself and understand their roles
Begin to recognize the different parts of yourself—the ones that worry, criticize, protect, please, avoid, strive, or become overwhelmed. Through guided exercises and reflection, you’ll learn how to notice these parts, understand what they may be trying to accomplish, and develop a more compassionate relationship with them. -
Access greater Self-energy
Discover what it means to access Self-energy by tapping into your capacity for qualities like curiosity, compassion, calm, and courage, and directing it toward yourself. -
The core components of Polyvagal Theory
Develop an understanding of the autonomic nervous system and the ways it continually scans for cues of safety and threat. Feel into the different states your nervous system is in and the various somatic cues that can inform what your body needs. -
Understand your body through a parts-work lens
Learn to listen to sensations, impulses, emotions, and shifts in your body with curiosity rather than judgment. We’ll explore how nervous system responses can be understood as communication from parts of you that are trying to protect, cope, or keep you safe. This creates an opportunity to move from “What’s wrong with me?” toward “What is happening inside me, and what might this part need?” -
Strategies to support nervous system feedback
Develop practical, compassionate ways to respond when your nervous system becomes activated, shut down, or overwhelmed. The goal is to build your capacity to notice activation earlier and respond with greater Self-energy, choice, and compassion.
